first observation: i can tell right away where the weight problem is coming from. it's those burgers and fries, man. you're drowning in fat you don't need!!!do they want you to have a coronary before you're 30???
can you get any juices? fruit? vegies? beans, lentils, nonfat protein sources? the locals must know. get off the fats, mass carbos and sugars!
don't kill your kness. just walk a lot. not hard, not fast, just walk at every opportunity you can.
ill put up a separate post for each commentary i have. these windows are small. next is coming up....
ok next observation: make noise to someone higher up about that landfill mess. the kuwaitis didn't invite us to use their turf to trash it. bug someone about turning out the whole camp to clean up that crap in trash bags and adopt the sierra club motto:
"take only pictures. leave only footprints."
what the hell are all those blue things visible in the garbage, anyway?
thrid helpful suggestion:
why wait for landmail for pictures to put up? is there no printer in the whole camp? we DO have digital photography at home, you know. why not either ask the folks back home to convert regular photos to digital and have em posted to you so you can print em out, or get a digital and send em to you that way. i mean, you're taking em for us--can't people at home take em for YOU??? are we stuck in the last century on this problem? comonnnnn--let's get this man some pictures, already. look at what he's stuc with for scenery!!!!
wow man. i really get the picture now. it's like you're living in a supply closet. ugh. wonder if you can score some colored paint from someplace...cheer up the interior a bit. at least with the lower buk, you can create a canopy bed effect with draping cloth all around it for privacy. and darkness. it's a plan, eh? *I* would do it...wouldnt have to look at T's mess or the closet vista... that includes over your head when in the sack. think veils, mosquito netting, boudoirs, medieval drapes. block out the sight. you need curtains.
PS what happened to my suggestions for things to take pictures of? go dredge that up and get creative.
Thanks for posting the images - they're great! And I want to say thanks to you and everyone else for your service and sticking it out!! HOORAH!
Most s incerely,
Tom

That Pam lady last comment made my blood boil. *intense anger*
Thor I thank you very much. And another thing for Pam. Im Vietnamese.
A little history about myself. I was born in Vietnam in 75. Our family fled the country by boat in 82.
I love America ,she has been wonderful to our family.
I seriously thought about jioning the marines after 9/11 , but at the time my older brother had kidney problems and I volunteered to be the donor. Its has been more than two years since I donoted a kidney. Me and my brother are doing fine. Having one kidney disqualifies from the service. Or else I would be there.
Thanks Thor. Pam eat s###!!!!!!

It was nice to see your pictures and read your words... (Pam, go get a life.. in another country)
I've been looking at a lot of blogs from anyone in Iraq right now. I know it must sound silly, but I found out a few days ago that an old boyfriend died there (suicide bomber) back in May. I don't live in my home town anymore, so I didn't find out right away that it happened. I wish very much that I had tho. I'm so proud of him. As I am all of you guys that protect those of us who can't, won't or are so stupid they don't understand the need.
Remember there are many of us here in the states that are with you in spirit. Thank you again.
i found you pics purely by accident. as i was about to leave your site, i realied what i was looking at. i would be interested in reading more about your day to day life. anyway-thanks for the window. L-
